Transitions Academy and the Innovation Awards

Nearly 500 industry professionals from North and South America gathered at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando for the 20th annual Transitions Academy.

Henry Ford OptimEyes received the 2015 Best in Growth Achievement award, a category of the new Transitions Innovation Awards program. “When it comes to identifying growth objectives, Henry Ford OptimEyes continually sets their sights high and implements strategies that will support and motivate the entire team to make the goal attainable,” said Drew Smith, associate director, North America Channels, Transitions Optical. “We congratulate them on their well-deserved win and thank them for keeping Transitions lenses top of mind among their associates and within  their marketplace.”

Visionworks received the 2015 Best in Training award.

“One of Visionworks’ strengths lies in education; the company is dedicated to creating training opportunities for its associates and strategically utilizes its network to pinpoint areas of improvement and test programs before implementing them nationwide,” said Drew Smith, associate director, North America Channels, Transitions Optical.

New Look Eyewear received the 2015 Best in Marketing award.

“Out of all of our marketing efforts, the most effective initiative is connected with our very own employees,” said Marie-Josée Mercier, vice president of sales and operations, New Look Eyewear. “Every year, our employees receive a free pair of Transitions lenses, which has enabled them to confidently recommend them to customers. VisionArts Eyecare Center received the 2015 Best in Patient Experience award.

“Someone once told me, ‘If you truly care about your patients, you should do everything you can to make sure they truly understand the importance of protecting their eyes when they walk out of your office.’ To us, that means educating all patients on what Transitions lenses can do for them,” said Dr. James Vann, O.D., owner, VisionArts Eyecare Center.

Dr. Eric White, O.D.—owner of Complete Family Vision Care in San Diego, CA—received the 2015 Transitions Brand Ambassador award. “My goal in life is to help people see, and that starts with the best quality eyewear—which is why my practice recommends the full Transitions family of products,” said Dr. White.
